Secure data removal is an absolute must if you are selling, giving, or recycling your computer. Identity theives buy computers at garage sales and thrift stores just to get the deleted data. It is not enough to just run the recovery program that comes with Microsoft Windows. simply deleting data or restoring a computer using the recovery program is like ripping the index out of a book, the rest of the information is there but the computer doesn't know where to look for it. Data MUST be "WIPED" or over written several times to ensure that it cannot be recovered.


Secure computer recycling will keep your computer out of the landfill and protect your data as well. Once I take posession of a computer I "WIPE" the hard disk even in non working computers. In the event that a hard drive is not functional so that I cannot "WIPE" it, then it will be shredded.
